(August 12, 1849 – May 29, 1921) American artist, naturalist and teacher. As a painter of portraits, figures, animals and landscapes, he enjoyed a certain prominence during his lifetime, and his paintings are represented in the major American art collections. He is perhaps best known for his 'angel' paintings, some of which use his children as models.

This reminds me of photos I took from the South Eastern Aspect of Tasmania in Australia. That seperate island from the mainland that is a very popular tourist destination now. My brother has moved there as his wife is Taswegian . Beautiful landscape. Gets very cold . Used as a base by many explorers and workers of Antarctica. Cheers Madonna
