Herring gull (Larus argentatus) headshot. Herring gulls are the most abundant and best known of all gulls along the shores of Asia, western Europe, and North America. Herring gulls are omnivores and will scavenge as well as seek small prey. They nest in colonies on the ground or on cliff ledges and produce up to three eggs during the breeding season. Photographed in Kent, UK, in January.
